The ideal spot for your moss ball is outdoors in partial shade. If you have an area where moss is already growing, your moss ball will likely thrive there. Placing it in an open area where it can receive rainfall means it won’t require much attention. Your kokedama may also be placed on a covered balcony or terrace in partial shade. More detailed care instructions are included in the package.
The plants in this DIY kit are hardy, so your kokedama can stay outdoors year-round.

Switzerland is home to more than 1,100 different types of moss? The climate in Switzerland is very suitable for moss. Moss ball bonsais are typically kept outside so that the moss may thrive.
Kokedama translates to ‚Koke‘ moss and ‚dama‘ ball (jap. 苔玉). A bonsai technique, which was developed in Japan over 500 years ago. Not only do they look elegant, they are really fun to create.
